I’m talking about an idea. Do you know why you need to get it out there? Because if you don’t someone else will.
If you have a good idea, get it out there. For every idea I’ve realized, I have ten I sat on for a decade till somone else did it first. Write it. Shoot it. Publish It. Crochet it. Saute it. Whatever. MAKE!
Joss Whedon
Create is a verb. It’s an action word. Make is the same. They require action. Both require YOU to be active. To participate. There is no other way.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re an artist, chef, crafter, scientist, photographer, writer, or any other person who creates.
Start now. Explore that idea you have. Even if it’s silly. Start now. Before someone else makes what you were thinking of creating.

As far as I’m concerned if an idea comes to you and you ignore it, it’s free to go and find a home with someone who will nurture it. So yes, I’m with you on this one – you have to actively work it, your way.
Exactly. Someone else who either isn’t afraid or someone else who realizes the potential of that idea.
Wise words. Wish I was creative enough to think of something. ? Visiting from #MLSTL

Jennifer,
I learned this in blogging. I was waiting until I had my best blog post. The one that would wow people and they’d need to share it. I kept reading from other bloggers to just start but I was too worried I’d publish less than my best or worse, just crap. That post didn’t come to me, I waited for a year. Then I decided to take other blogger advice and dive in. I now have well over 100 published posts and they just flow from my head some days. It’s amazing.
Just start. Do it. Who cares if you suck. With practice you’ll become amazing!

I went to an annual blogging conference and I was amazed by the number of women there who hadn’t even pushed publish on their blog but had been to the conference two years in a row.
Great advice Jennifer. So many times I’ve had ideas and not put them into action only to find six months later someone else was braver than I. Thanks for sharing at #MLSTL x
Same thing. I’m writing from experience.
I think so many of us put things off because we lack the self-confidence to pursue them Jennifer. I’m getting braver with age, and I’m also allowing myself to try things with the knowledge I may fail (a big one for me!) BTW I love your new profile pic – it’s always nice to see a fresh picture. x
Thanks for linking up with us at MLSTL and I’ve shared on my SM ?
Thanks, I was not sure about putting my new full on grey picture up but I went for it! I’m glad you noticed and like it.
I absolutely agree, Jennifer. I get loads of ideas, but by the time I put them out there, they’ve already been done by someone else.
Thank you! I so needed to see this post today. I’ve been going back and forth with a few ideas lately and got discouraged trying to get them out there. ? Peace and Blessings to you!
I’m so glad that I was able to inspire you!
