Today’s creativity prompt is a picture prompt. If you’ve ever been to Niagara Falls, then you know what this is. But you can only get this picture from riding on the Maid of the Mist. It always seemed interesting and mysterious to me. How cool that it was built into the rock just below the falls! And it looks like a great place to hide. Who is looking out those windows or shadowed tunnels?
This is the old Ontario Power Generating Station that was decommissioned in 1999. It’s now part of the Niagara Parks Commission. But it has so many stories to tell.
I love the stories of the falls–and all those brave (crazy?) souls who tried to make it over in barrels, etc. Great prompt! Have you ever read Joyce Carol Oates’ novel, The Falls? It’s one of my favorites of hers.
I haven’t read that one. My favorite of hers is Bellefleur. But I did read about all the different people who’ve gone over the falls, those who survived and those who didn’t.
