The temperatures are warming up as summer eased it’s way back into our lives. And summer is heating up with these Blogging Boomers, too! Or is it that they are what heats up summer? You tell me.
First up is Tom from Sightings Over Sixty who joined the local YMCA with his wife last fall. His wife has become a regular. As for Tom, he started out with a burst of enthusiasm, and then … well. Find out more about it in I Try To Exercise, I Really Do.
Almost two weeks ago Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting succumbed to a malady many of us develop as we mature and purchased a device to improve the condition. In this week’s blog post, Pay Today and Hear Tomorrow, she laments the fact that the items cost an exorbitant amount of money. Neither insurance or Medicare chip in. There is hope, however, that in the future cheaper alternatives will be available and many folks, unable to afford expensive models, will be able to take advantage of the new options.

Laurie Stone didn’t know how addicted to her cell phone she’d become. She wasn’t on it that much, was she? Then one day her husband Randy taught her a lesson in The Shocking Day My Husband Intervened.
On The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide, Rita R. Robison writes about the book “Elderhood: Redefining Aging, Transforming Medicine, Reimagining Life” by Louise Aronson, M.D. Aronson, a geriatrician, said when an elderly person comes in with a problem, it’s likely to be something in addition to the several other problems that already have been diagnosed. And finally, in case you missed it, last week I reminded you it was time Update Your Vision Board to focus on the second half of the year.
I hope you enjoy this visit with my Blogging Boomer friends and I hope you’ve been able to find some blogs to continue enjoying in the future. Have a wonderful summer!

Thanks for these suggestions – I particularly related to Rebecca’s post about caregiving as I have been in that role for several years now and it’s very challenging, as you know. Summer has finally arrived here in the UK too now after a shaky start (not even sure how long this good weather will last!) I guess we need to make the best of whatever gets dished up because every day must be enjoyed regardless!
Caregiving is very challenging and I know I struggled that last year with my mom. Luckily, I was keeping up with my Dr. appointments because I ended up having to have surgery last November just before she died and we moved. If I didn’t have it then, who knows how long it would have taken me and my health could be much worse at this point.
I can’t believe how fast summer came on this year. Enjoyed this group of posts a lot!
