I’m doing something new this month. I signed up to participate in the Blogging A-Z Challenge. Basically, we blog for 26 days in the month of April. It’s going to be a big challenge for me because, while I used to post three days a week, I’ve gotten into the habit of just posting once a week. Let’s get this blogging adventure started. And if you hadn’t noticed, today is A for Adventure.
The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.
Joseph Campbell

I attempted to blog daily once before. In September 2014, I decided to write a blog post daily for 30 days. Then Blogtober came along, which included writing a post each day in October, and I ended up blogging for 45 days in a row.
While that might sound like an accomplishment, I wasn’t happy because many of my posts were just pictures with quotes. I’m not saying that some of these current posts won’t just be pictures with a quote, but they won’t be the majority. And I haven’t figured out what the heck I’m going to do when I come to the letter X, but I’m in for the long haul on this.
What I’m curious about is what my blog will look like after the 26 days. Last time I changed the focus of my blog (and then changed it again after a year!) In many ways, I feel like I’m doing a condensed version of the 100. After 30 days, I might find a new direction or a different take on the same direction. If you’re not familiar with the 100, then please read How to Work Around a Creative Block.
If you’ve been around for a few years, you might remember that I used to do a Wednesday Whoa, which really was a quote and picture but based on the theme of my Monday post. I also included a Friday creativity prompt. That was usually a picture and sometimes the first or last line from books.
Most recently, Wednesday Whoa has turned into the Newsletter that I started sending out weekly. But I think there’s room for two – a newsletter and a post.
The overall theme for A-Z Blogging Challenge is Resilience, which is the ability to withstand challenges and bounce back. My theme within this will be motivation and inspiration. All the letters of the alphabet will correspond to a word or words meant to motivate and inspire you. (I’m still working on that x one!)
I hope you enjoy this experiment and join me each day and see where I end up at the end. Changed? Let’s hope so. Let’s get this adventure started! Every challenge should change you in some way.
(And the next post will be on Monday. The only Sunday I’ll post on is the 30th.)
I usually use a number for “X”. Hope that helps!

X as a Roman Numeral?
Yes 🙂
Let the adventure begin indeed. I look forward to your posts, and I’ll look forward to hearing what you think after almost-daily posting for the month. Good luck, and have fun.
Thanks, Deborah. So far, so good. Oh, wait. It’s only been one day!
Nice to meet you – another from the Blogging A-Z Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, Debby.
Like Ronel said, X is ten in Roman numbers, and that’s what I usually do with it. Not this year, though, at least not that I can see. Good start to the challenge!
Thanks for stopping by. We’ll have to see what X becomes, I haven’t read all the words in the Dictionary, yet.
We’re pretty lenient, if you need to put an e in front of it. I sometimes use stock symbols…
Now that’s a bit cheeky! I’d forgotten how few X words there are in the dictionary, and most are scientific. Xtra sounds like something that will work with my theme. If I can’t figure that out, I can always fall back to Xmas, which I was surprised to see in the dictionary.
I have used Xmas, X-ray and eXtra (sort of cheating there) I never thought of the number X!

Those are good ones. There is also Xanadu.
Good luck with the A to Z posts. I blog six times a week, usually, taking Saturday off. For several years, I did a Saturday article on my best and worse experiences of the week, but I found I needed a day off. I also had two blogs for a time, but the Seattle Post-Intelligencer fired all their reader bloggers, me included. You can use X for X-ray. One consumer topic I’ve written about a number of times is the FDA’s recommendation to keep a card with the dates of your X-rays on it so you can show it to your medical providers. They may be able to use a recent X-ray rather than ordering a new one, thus reducing radiation exposure. Also, keeping track of CT scans is important, too, because you get much more radiation exposure from them.
Thanks, Rita. I could use X is for XXIV for the 24th letter of the alphabet.
Good luck with your challenge, Jen!! Looking forward!
Thanks, Carol.
I always admire those intrepid bloggers who take on this challenge. Looks like fun! Can’t wait to read them.
Let’s see how I do!
This will be epic! Good luck!
Thanks, Diane!
