Goodbye.

I’m coming up on the 14th year of this blog. March 2013 is when I created my first official post for this blog. Since then, I’ve written at least once a week for most of the years. There were a couple of pauses, and sometimes I wrote 2 or 3 times a week. And there were a couple of months where I wrote every day.

I was still working for VZW when I started, and we lived in Connecticut. I also had 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and my mother. Since then, I lost one brother, who was 57, and one sister, who was 68 at the time. I was laid off in 2017, and my mother passed in 2019 when she was 99.

We took our first cruise, and we went to Cuba. After my mother passed, we moved first to Orlando, where we weathered the pandemic, and then three years later to Bradenton, FL.

Last year, I was thinking about closing the blog when I took one of those long pauses. But decided to try to keep it going. Although, for the most part, in the past, I’ve looked forward to writing these posts… this past year I haven’t. There are other things that I want to do. And it’s getting hard to slot time for them.

While I’ve continued to think about it since this past summer, Saturday, I made the final decision. I closed 50 blog-related tabs on Sunday, mostly research for future posts. And it felt good. It just confirmed everything I’ve been thinking about for the past few months. It’s time for me to try something new outside of this blog.

The Unfold and Begin Etsy store will continue, as will the When Pigs Fly by Jen and JRK Printables stores.

The blog will remain open for a month or two if there are any posts that you want to reread.

I hope I’ve entertained you, made you think, and hopefully prodded you out there to try new things and explore your creativity.
