Ah, my favorite is “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess.
I’m not a fan. It’s slowness evokes a languid feeling. More like August in Florida when you don’t want to move outside because it’s too hot.
I think for me, it brings back memories of seeing the movie on the big screen when I was twelve. There was so much I didn’t understand but I loved the music. Summertime has always stayed with me – so haunting.
