I often talk about finding the right phrases, words, affirmations, and mantras to use on your Vision Boards. I even write about making them positive not negative. To help you with this, I’m starting a series that will give you positive options for many different types of affirmations you’ll need on a Vision Board. But today, I thought I’d get deeper into that by sharing 24 different health and self-care affirmations your vision board needs.

Be Positive

So often we talk about what we want to stop doing and not enough about what we’ll start doing. So our vision boards and affirmations become cluttered with words like no, not, and won’t. As in:

I will say no to chocolate.
I will not eat chocolate.
I won’t eat chocolate.

The focus is on the stopping and the deprivation. The NO makes you feel bad, like you’re being punished. Instead we need to focus on the positive. It’s about what we’re going to do, not what we’re going to stop doing.

I will say yes to energizing my body by eating healthy.
I will enjoy discovering new and healthy foods to try.
I will find alternative treats that are healthy for my body.

The focus is on the starting, the enjoying, and the healthy aspect of your new lifestyle. It doesn’t sound like a punishment anymore. Instead, you are “energizing” and “enjoying” and “treating” your body to healthy foods.

If you keep saying no, not, or won’t then your mind will focus on these words and everything becomes a chore, a punishment. Let’s not trip ourselves up by using negative words.

The Affirmations

Below, you’ll find a list of positive affirmations to use on your Vision Board for you Affirmation list. Each focuses on a positive mind-set, not a negative one. Choose one or more, or even build off of the ones that are here.

I hope one or more of these resonates with you and helps you to create your best vision board. You can also use these as a jumping-off point to write your own specific (and positive) affirmation. I’ve included a PDF version of these so you can print them out and use them on your vision board. I like using gold-toned paper so they stand out on my board.
