It’s that time of the week again when we dive into the world of my favorite baby boomer bloggers. Whether you’re a boomer yourself or just someone who appreciates a hearty dose of classic tales and sage advice, buckle up as we journey through this week’s treasures. So, grab your cup of iced coffee, iced or sweet tea, and get ready to soak in the collective wisdom of the generations that knew how to rock a good tune and a groovy attitude. Let’s dive into the Best of Baby Boomer blog round-up for the Week.
Have you ever been to a movie by yourself? The other day Laurie wanted to see “Oppenheimer,” but no one was available, so she went alone, something she hadn’t done in ages. There, she re-discovered four wonderful things about experiencing “cinema solo.”
August is Psoriasis Awareness Month so Rebecca Olkowski, with Baby Boomster, has a post on her blog that explains 5 Common Myths about it that you may not be aware of. If you have itchy or inflamed skin, make sure to check it out here.
Travel is one of Meryl Baer’s retirement passions. This summer she visited the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and was amazed at how far these nations have come since independence from the Soviet Union in building a modern nation. On the other hand, in her latest post to her blog, Musings of a Shore Life, she considers why the U.S. has stagnated.
For sales in September, look for deals on summer clothing, major appliances, grills, mattresses, school supplies, patio furniture, bicycles, and more, advises Rita R. Robison, consumer and personal finance journalist. See her article for what not to buy in September.
Witnessing the lack of respect afforded Diane’s Husby by his younger co-workers in the waning years of his career in the Alberta Government, she was reminded of her childhood. And the way her father was respected.
This week on her blog, Carol Cassara talks about our tendency to rush to judgment before all the facts are in. She wonders how you feel about that — read about it in “Why Must We Rush to Judgment?“
I hope you enjoyed this latest Baby Boomer round-up.
It is so great… Thank you jen
I’m glad you liked it.
Thanks, Jennifer!
You’re welcome.
As a boomer, myself, I think Baby Boomers rock. They have to be the next best generation after The Greatest Generation, right? I follow your blog on Feedly and interestingly, a post entitled Celebrating National Senior Citizen’s Day and Innovative Baby Boomers showed up in my Feedly feed for your blog, but when I tried to find it on your home page, I couldn’t. It was a great read!! Glad to be in the company of so many famous boomers like Oprah and the members of Aerosmith, and Linda Ronstadt. Bill Clinton was a pretty fair president, I guess, but would just as soon Hillary wasn’t a fellow boomer.
I had problems with my website and lost the last two posts I created. They were pretty awesome but I don’t have a copy, just outlines. Since Senior Citizen’s Day is past, I think I’ll try it again next year. Ugh. But I do have to say one of this nation’s greatest mistakes was made when Hillary was not elected.
