A Goal is a dream
With a Deadline
Napoleon Hill
Deadlines. Â That’s how you turn dreams into goals. Â It’s nice to have dreams, but if we don’t take any concrete actions towards them, then that’s all they will ever be – dreams.
To take any action, you need to start with a deadline. Â When do you need/want to complete that project by? Â What date should it be due? Â If there’s no deadline attached to your project, then how will you know where to place it in importance?
Maybe you’re different but for me, a deadline not only motivates me but also tells me how important the project is.  It helps me choose which is important, which thing comes first.
What helps drive you to complete a project?
I REALLY like that quote! I’ve had a few dreams but hadn’t taken any concrete actions for a looong time. I just recently seriously started looking at what I had to get done in order to make the dreams a reality (or at least give them a shot!). And strangely, deadlines help to calm me down because I get specific things done versus having a mountain of things that “should” get done…
Exactly. Without the deadline, everything seems vague and overwhelming.
