It’s been five months in the making, but my last day with Verizon Wireless happens this week. Â Back on October 12th, when they told us our call center would be closing, March 24th felt like a long time away. Â Now it’s not, it’s this week. Â I’m hoping that for everyone endings are a time for new beginnings.
I think it’s no small coincidence that I ran into a former employee this weekend. Â While she left the company years ago, she’s found a new passion and has an organic skincare shop in New Haven. Â I’ll post more about her company next week, but I thought it was so appropriate that I was invited to a blogger event and the store that we went to happened to belong to a former co-worker.
I think that’s exactly what I needed to see — she was successfully following her passion. Â I’m very committed to my goal of blogging and freelance writing, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a little bit of fear with that excitement. Â I’m sure a lot of my fellow co-workers are feeling the same. Â Whether they have a job to go to or not, we’re all leaving the familiar drive, to the familiar office to do the job that we know with the people that we know. Â It’s hard.
So this week, it’s imperative that we take the time to reflect and appreciate each other. Â Whether we are saying goodbye or just see you later, all of you have been a big part of my life for a very long time.
This is so true! I have lived this theory several times over. Well said!
I wish you all the luck and fortune in your new adventures!
Thank you.
